The Derek Williams Trust is thrilled to acquire an edition of All the Dead Stars by major UK artist Katie Paterson.
Created in 2009, All the Dead Stars documents the locations of just under 27,000 dead stars: all those recorded and observed by humankind at the time the work was created.
Paterson was born in Scotland in 1981. She works in collaboration with scientists and researchers from across the world to stage projects which consider our place on earth in the context of geological time and change. Characterized by conceptual rigour and a poetic and philosophical presentation, her work engages with concepts existing at the edges of abstract knowledge but which are of increasing relevance to our understanding of our natural environment.
